It is a shocker when your Keurig coffee maker refuses to accomplish the one task- that is, to brew coffee. The problem occurred could cause by one or a combination of these reasons:
- Too much scale and debris build up in the line
Solution: Descaling
Try running the machine a few times without the K-cup would be your first option. It is best to clean the coffee maker every 3 to 6 months, and if you have not yet done so and believe that there is calcium scaling in the machine, here is what you need to do. Watch this video with a step-by-step instruction:

Solution:
Switch off and unplug the machine, entirely filled the water reservoir and gave the machine a few gentle shakes. By doing so is to ensure that there no air trapped in the machine, which could interfere with the brewing. - Machine pieces are not properly placed
Solution:
Sometimes your Keurig coffee maker is not brewing coffee, not because of anything major but could be due to those machine components are not correctly set. Quickly check if they are in sitting in the right place. It is common for the magnetic water reservoirs to lose their alignment, be sure you always check.
Problem #2: Keurig (Classic) Shut Off & Turn On By Itself
If your Keurig Classic series coffee maker is shutting off or turning on by itself, this could be the built-in timer has been set. Here are the solutions for Keurig classic models:
- Keurig Mini
If the Keurig Mini turns off on its own and the brewer remains sedentary for more than 90 seconds, you need to push the Power button to start the machine all over again. - Keurig Elite
If your Keurig Elite brewing system is shutting off on its own, chances are the Auto Off function is turned on which means the brewer will automatically turn off 2 hours after its last brew. - Platinum & Special Edition
Similar to Keurig Elite, if the Auto Off function is on, then it will shut off on its own. You have to make sure that you disable this feature. Besides that, when the magnetic components of the water reservoir dislocated, it would interrupt the brewing cycle, too. Be sure you always place all the parts in its right position.
If all of these does not solve the problem, it is time to talk to Keurig’s customer care. You can find the customer care contacts at the Keurig’s website.
Problem #3: There Is Leakage from My Keurig Coffee Maker
Yikes! There is an inadvertent leak from your Keurig coffee maker? I understand this could be irritating because you see a mopping job lined right up before you could even have your morning coffee fixed!
If there is a leakage in the coffee machine, chances are the upper gasket of the machine is either installed inaccurately or go missing. The gasket is the component when is placed around the puncture needle of the machine.
Check if the gasket was placed correctly and if it is missing then you need to purchase a replacement. Any misalignments will cause leakage, adjust the gasket to form a perfect seal and aligned with the incoming water supply and the K-cup.
Or you could use a rubber band instead, watch this video to learn how to do it.
